Description:

"Golden Summer Twilight" by Patrick O'Rourke is a mesmerizing original acrylic painting that captures the serene beauty of a summer evening bathed in golden light. This expansive 72x24" canvas showcases O'Rourke's mastery of the heavy impasto technique, where thick layers of acrylic paint create a rich, textured surface that brings the scene to life.

The focal point of the painting is a majestic tree, its sprawling branches silhouetted against the warm, golden glow of the twilight sky. The intricate details of the tree's bark and the delicate leaves are rendered in bold, expressive strokes, adding depth and dimension to the piece. The heavy impasto technique gives the painting a tactile quality, inviting viewers to not only see the scene but to feel the texture and weight of the paint.

The rolling hills and distant trees are bathed in soft, diffused light, creating a sense of tranquility and peace that permeates the entire composition. The play of light and shadow, combined with the warm, golden hues, evokes the quiet beauty of a summer evening just as the sun dips below the horizon.

"Golden Summer Twilight" is a stunning testament to O'Rourke's ability to capture the essence of nature through his dynamic use of texture and color. This original piece is perfect for those who appreciate the beauty of the natural world and the skillful artistry that brings it to life. Whether displayed in a home or office, this painting is sure to be a focal point and a source of inspiration for years to come.

About the Artist — Patrick O’Rourke (1956–2026)
Patrick O'Rourke devoted nearly seven decades to painting, yet the number of his original works that remain available today is extremely limited. Each

original represents a singular moment in a career that can no longer be added to—a finished body of work created entirely by the artist's own hand.

In 2017, the devastating Tubbs Fire destroyed many of Patrick's treasured original paintings. He continued to paint in the years that followed, creating some of the strongest works of his career until a stroke in 2023 ultimately brought his time at the easel to an end. After nearly two years of rehabilitation, Patrick announced his retirement in February 2025, choosing to preserve the standard of excellence that had defined his work rather than paint at a level he felt was less than his best.

With Patrick’s passing in 2026, his original body of work became permanently complete. No additional Patrick O’Rourke originals will ever be created. Many of his paintings have long since entered private collections, while others were lost forever, making the originals that remain an increasingly rare part of his artistic legacy.
