Steven Quartly's journey from the picturesque landscapes of Northern California to his vibrant studio in Southern California is a testament to his lifelong dedication to capturing the beauty of the world around him. His expertise lies in impressionistic oils on canvas, where he specializes in seascapes and cityscapes, infusing each piece with his unique perspective and passion.
Quartly's artistic journey began at a remarkably young age, starting oil painting at just 13 years old. Growing up surrounded by the stunning scenery of the Northern California Coast, he developed a deep appreciation for life, nature, color, and form. Under the guidance of a mentor painter, Quartly honed his skills, starting with portraits and landscapes, laying the foundation for his future artistic endeavors.
His commitment to his craft led him to pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Art from Azusa Pacific University, where he further refined his technique and artistic vision. A pivotal moment in his career came when he was commissioned to paint a mural on canvas for the Marshburn Memorial Library Solarium, an experience that solidified his passion for fine art and set him on his path as a professional artist.
Today, Quartly's work graces the walls of prestigious galleries across the United States. He has garnered recognition and acclaim through his participation in various exhibitions, including the Orange Plain Air Paint the Town Show, where he earned the esteemed "Best of Show" award, as well as the LA County Fair Museum Exhibit and the Los Angeles Design Showcase.
